Seeing the door in action and watching each of the door leafs collectively fold and glide together is similarly captivating. Ahead of the installation of French doors, you will be asked if you want the doors to open inwardly or outwardly. Your choice of opening may depend upon how much available space there is within the conservatory. James Oliver should be able to add a set of patio doors to most conservatory styles, large or small, as we can specially configure the design to fit within the relevant setup. When you give them a gentle push they float across the runner and give you an invaluable opening.

Currently, the trend is to have exceptionally large patio doors, with huge expanses of glass. We can fulfil such requests when there is sufficient capacity. Because it is not a hinged door, there is no possibility of a patio door blowing open in high winds and potentially becoming damaged, which is reassuring.

There’s something extremely relaxing about simply gazing at the sky above while you recline in a comfy chair inside of your conservatory. To maximise the aerial view, have a gorgeous glass roof covering the structure, a product that will also minimise the impact of any noise generated by driving rain or hail. It can be tinted in a series of colours, with each tint offering something different from the perspective of performance, and every glass roof also demonstrates impressive solar control. You won’t have to go out and clean the month every few months if you have self-cleaning glass added.

We would never dream of keeping important facts hidden from our customers, so we inform them all that adding a solid tiled roof to their conservatory can result in a loss of natural light. But, we then follow that up by informing them that we can integrate one or more roof windows into the tiled covering to ensure that light transference into the extension is healthy throughout the daytime. The colour for the lightweight tiles / slates should be pretty similar to the colour of your existing tiles / slates on the roof of the house, so that the tiled roof matches it nicely and doesn’t look completely out of place.

We always respond by explaining that we adopt an 11-stage powder-coating process when applying the finishes to the aluminium frames. James Oliver is also an expert at sublimation, a method employed to create woodgrain finishes in Walnut, Rosewood and Oak.

Turning back the clock, 19th Century timber windows would typically have finishes such as Painswick, Clotted Cream and Painswick, and they would all be painted onto the frame. James Oliver has revived these classic colours for current customers, and added a few other time-old favourites too, including Corse Lawn and Eclectic Grey. The way we incorporate these finishes into our Heritage frames makes them look like they’re crafted from timber.
