Two Living Space Love Stories From James Oliver

The phrase ‘the heart is where the heart is’ really resonates with us at James Oliver.

As February celebrates love, we’re excited to spotlight some of our cherished home love stories.

Among those deeply enamoured with their living spaces are the Cartwrights and Morleys. Since expanding their homes, their affection for their homes has only deepened.

For both families, it was an instant connection upon the completion of their James Oliver projects.

An expanded dining space

After residing in their family home for eight years, the Cartwrights found themselves in need of additional space. This need led them to consider expanding their home to accommodate their evolving needs.

While their kitchen-diner was functional, the desire for a distinct dining area with ample natural light and an outdoor ambiance grew strong.

Their journey led them to a showroom where serendipitously, they discovered a glass roof conservatory that closely matched their requirements, poised for customisation to fulfil their vision.

Why they chose us

“In our decision to work with James Oliver, we were drawn to their comprehensive expertise and the assurance that they could manage the entire project seamlessly without relying on external contractors.

“Their confidence and demonstrated skill set instilled trust in us that they would deliver exceptional results and uphold their promises.

“While we initially worried about potential draughts due to the amount of glass in the living space, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by the cosy atmosphere.”

Embracing their new home

Even before settling into their new residence, the Morleys envisioned expanding their living space to accommodate their growing family, particularly with the anticipation of a new baby. Their property boasted room for an additional space, perfectly aligning with their aspirations.

They envisioned a versatile living area, integrating an open plan lounge, kitchen, and living space, facilitating both entertainment and relaxation while their little one explored and played.

Seeking expert guidance, they invited professionals for an on-site assessment of the prospective extension. However, it was during their visit to the showroom that they truly grasped the possibilities that lay ahead.

Blown away by the technology

“The software allowed us to visualise the completed glass roof orangery, both inside and out, seamlessly integrating it with our home. It was this virtual representation that truly sold us the dream.

“Once we greenlit the project, everything fell into place effortlessly, from handling building regulations to the final touches. In just six weeks, it was ready for us to enjoy.

“The natural light it captures creates an uplifting ambiance without any concern for overheating, making it the perfect spot to relax and observe our little one in the garden.”
