Three Ways You Can Keep Your Mind And Body Healthy At Home

Love Your Home Stay Healthy

We know that there will be many people finding lockdown difficult, especially those living through it on their own. The best pieces of advice we can give them is to take things one day at a time and to try and look after their health whilst at home, as it will help.

Also, remember, that home is the safest place for you right now and that you’re doing the country a great service by remaining indoors, helping to save lots of lives.

You don’t need a gym or personal trainer to keep your mind and body fit. They can be kept in a good state in a series of simple ways, including with these three home-healthy tips:

Get a daily to-do list done and have a chat

Time will really drag if you do next to nothing over the next few weeks. You need to be busy and get all those household chores done, of which they’ll be plenty.

At the start of each day, give yourself a list of tasks that you can have finished by the close of play. When they’re all completed, you will feel great for it and feel a sense of accomplishment.

You also need to do lots of talking – it’s essential at a time like this. Have a virtual drinks night on Zoom so that you can chat with your friends whilst having your favourite tipple, like you would do in the pub.

Tip One

Live an outdoor lifestyle

Other than heading out for exercise once a day, you have little opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. But that’s not true if you own a garden.

Vitamin D is an important nutrient for our bodies and fresh air always does you the world of good, so use your outdoor space as much as you can.

Every breakfast, lunch and dinner can be consumed outside if you have it in a sunny spot and if the weather continues like it has been recently, you can catch a nice tan. Having your garden setup for outdoor living will also encourage the kids to venture out.

Tip Two

Bake a lot

It is a scientific fact that baking can help you de-stress and also bring a smile to your face as you dish out all your baked goodies to others.

If you’ve never baked before, it doesn’t matter. Everyone has it in them to cook up a cracking custard tart or tasty tiramisu – you just need to give it a go.

The seasoned bakers in the house can have a home Bake Off to discover who is the Star Baker in the family and who can create the best showstopper. Assign an impartial judge for the taste test and gift a reward to the winner.

Tip three

You could also use this time to make home improvement plans for a happier home. If you would like James Oliver to assist with that, we can offer you a FREE Online Appointment.
