Put These 3 Home Trends On Your Radar For 2022

There’s something about January that makes us want to reset every part of our lives, and that includes making changes in our home.

The New Year brings new trends. Before you make big changes, take note of James Oliver’s favourite 2022 trends so you can feel confident in making fashionable improvements to your home. From significant colours to overall themes, the three of the most significant trends you need to know this year are.

Multi-functional spaces

You may think you’ve mastered the art of a multi-functional space by pushing a desk up by the window in your bedroom, but in 2022 this means so much more. Our homes need to truly work for our busy and varied lifestyles.

Whether it’s a spare room that works as a yoga studio on weekends, a conservatory that makes a great conference room during the workday and a place to socialise in the evenings, or a dining room that simply features wine storage, your spaces should work for you.

Grandmillennial style

There are few places with as comforting connotations as our grandparents’ house and this year homeowners are hoping to channel that comfort in their own spaces.

Looking to bring back personality in their homes, millennials aren’t shying away from the bolder patterns and often cluttered homes that we associate with the older generation.

The grandmillennial trend involves rejecting minimalistic homes and instead adding framed photographs, travel souvenirs and needlepoint cushions stitched with meaningful quotes to their homes to bring a joyful atmosphere to their home.

White is out

Beige homes are so 2021! This year, we are experimenting with colour.

In 2022, our colour choices will take inspiration from nature with earthy tones of green and brown showing up in everything from window treatments to leather sofas and accessories.

Expect Pantone’s Colour of the Year, “Very Peri”, to make an appearance in homes looking for a pop of colour. The vibrant shade of blue has violet undertones and can be incorporated in home accessories for a bold statement.
